The new powRgrip®
system uses a mechanical clamping system to achieve a high clamping
force, unbeatable run-out, and the ability to use different size
tools in the same holder. This new holder system consists of a
toolholder, high precision collet, and a compact machine to insert
the collet and tool into the holder. The specially designed
collets are inserted with over 6 tons of force, creating
gripping forces higher than shrink fit holders without the small
tool size limitations and the dangers of using high temperature
shrink systems.
There is no longer a need to buy an expensive shrink
holder for each tool, and tool changes take just seconds, instead of
minutes. This innovation reduces the liability that comes from
an extremely high temperature shrink fit system without loosing T.I.R. Toolchanges are done in seconds and are immediately
returned to production.
